COURSE: Combat Handgun Course

Prerequisites: Open to Law Enforcement, Military and CCW permit holders.

Description: This 4-hour class is an intermediate skills building course for the defensive/sport shooter. The course focuses on a higher level of shooting safety, fundamentals of weapons handling and marksmanship which builds speed and accuracy. The course begins with an initial skills evaluation. The student will quickly gain experience, confidence and increase his/her skill level with a handgun. The course ends with a final evaluation to show the student what improvements have been made.

Skills Taught:
Weapons safety principles
Fundamentals of Marksmanship
Immediate and remedial action for malfunctions
Tactical and Speed reloads
Fundamentals of the draw sequence
Single action/Double action fire
Slow aimed fire
Rapid aimed fire
Rhythm drills
Command drills (Discretionary targets used for command training.)
Single target engagement
Multi-target engagements

Equipment Requirements:
Individual handgun and a minimum of 3 magazines
Individual belt holster and magazine pouch
Safety Glasses and hearing protection
Appropriate weather clothing
Positive learning attitude
250 rounds of ammunition minimum

Course Goals:
Increase in shooting ability from start to finish of course
Increased proficiency in weapons handling skills and safety
Advanced understanding of the fundamentals of weapon employment

Must be MIL, LE or possess a valid CCW to attend.
